UPDATE: Tuesday Night ALLEYCROSS RACE
Posted by D on October 5th, 2009 filed in UncategorizedUPDATE: Hammerhead Bikes, who have been sponsoring the Dirt Derby this season and have been giving super friendly deals to all those strong enough to attend a month-long cyclocross series, has been nice enough to look out for the cross freaks even in the absence of the official Dirt Derby.
Owen from Hammerhead just let me know that the shop is going to be throwing in a new WTB cross tire, a rear blinky light, and a couple titanium tire levers for the winner’s loot.
Big thanks to the shop for helping out the renegade cross folks.

UPDATE: New Day, New Park.
Northwest Park
Let’s take a break from the east side and go see how the mud is up North. The course this week will be where Joe Doyle used to hold some early morning cyclocross training sessions about a year or so ago. He cut out a good course through the park which had a run-up, a small piece of singletrack, a curb or two to bunnyhop, and some barriers.
It’ll take us about 30 minutes or so to bike to the park from the ped bridge so if you are already up north and want to meet us at the park I would say to get there around 7:30 or so. Comment or call if ya got any questions.

The Dirt Derby has decided to not even get our hopes up by waiting till the last minute to call off the race and decided earlier today that, for the FOURTH time in a row, the Tuesday night cyclocross races will be washed out.
FEAR NOT FREAKS.
If there is mud to ride through you better believe that we will find it, and looking at the forecast for tomorrow I doubt it will be hard.

For all your giro monsters, you’ve had your day of rest from the grueling week and I hope you’ve used it wisely because if not it’ll show.
I still have yet to decide what shape the race will take. Rosewood Park has been kicking every ass that has come to ride it but I’m thinking some change of scenery might be nice. I have another park in mind and I’ll go ride out to it tomorrow to see what it’s looking like these days.
I’ll update y’all tomorrow afternoon but if you have questions or want to drive there just call me or comment on this post.
I’m also going to try and scrounge up some prizes for this race but if that doesn’t happen then expect the winner to fill his pockets with some loser cash.

Try to keep your voices down to avoid any uniformed interruptions. The neighborhood has had trouble with teens partying in the park.
